The Thang -

For what seems like the millionth Monday evening in a row, the PAX came out to cold rain, despite no rain on the radar anywhere.  We tried, to no avail, to seek dryness on the stage at the Battleground.  We began with a warmup mosey to the second light pole, and came back to FiA Lenoir County's version of the Cupid Shuffle... because... well, Valentine's Day was just yesterday.

When we were sufficiently warm, we progressed to a 21-15-9 sequence of burpees, squats, and ankle biters, pausing to mosey in between each set.  After 21 burpees had just about wiped us out, we headed toward the light pole.  Green Thumb stopped dead in her tracks and exclaimed, "What's that?"  As we all looked in the direction she pointed in, we had trouble (with our old eyes in the cloud we were seemingly working out in) deciphering if what we were seeing was an animal, or a stump.  When it suddenly moved, we realized it to be the former, but what in the world was it??? As we got closer, we saw a beaver, eating all the clover in sight.  Yes, a beaver.  No, I've never seen one of them in real life either.  He really didn't seem bothered by us one bit, but did turn around before one of us could run back to get our phone to snap a photo as evidence of our FiA friend.  We eventually moseyed on back to finish our sets of 15 and 9.  We kept talking about our new friend, and toyed with names like Bucky, Buck Tooth, etc., but eventually it only seemed fitting to name him Burpee, as he gave us such a nice break from the dreaded exercise.

We did 2 rounds of 4 corners, where each corner had a designated exercise (jumping jacks, lunges, side crunches, and monkey humpers, which we fondly named beaver buns for tonight).  Finally, we had to complete our FiA challenge of 20 push ups for today, and we did so by listening to Flower (Bring Sally Up/Down) and doing push ups.

We cooled down with some static stretching.  757 led the COT, and we prayed for the growth of our group, and our service to our community.
