The Thang: Normally when I Q on Friday mornings, I try to keep the focus on yoga, but today I didn’t incorporate as much yoga. Instead, the ladies and I decided to put on pink and/or purple and finish Eliza’s run. We did not have the time or space to run 8.2 miles, but the goal instead was to walk/run/ruck 8 laps around The Woodshed, with some yoga peppered in between.
We started out with some wide-leg stretches into lunges (prasarita padottanasana into banarasana). We then moved into some cat/cow (bidalasana/cakravakasana) and then into child’s pose (balasana). We then walked 2 laps.
When we came back, we worked on a gate flow. We started in gate position, exhaled into a side bend, inhaled up, exhaled into a forward bend, inhaled up and exhaled into thread-the-needle. We repeated on the other side. Then we moved into 90/90 switches. Then we walked 2 more laps.
The last of our yoga consisted of using straps to stretch our shoulders, hamstrings, and hips. We then finished up our last 4 laps as we were running out of time.
We completed the workout with our COT, named our new FNG (Tippy Toes), prayer, picture and announcements. Thank you ladies for helping me to honor Eliza in our own small way.
