AO: The Battleground

Q: The Force (and Yachty calling out directions)

PAX: Yachty, Sweet Tooth, Rat-a-tat, Coach, Justice, 757, Capt. Camo, Breakout, Herbie (beep, beep)

Workout: 2 mile ruck around downtown Kinston. From the park we went down to NC 11/NC 55 and crossed the street and walked to Queen Street. We went up Queen Street all the way to Vernon and then turned left at the McDonald's. We went past McD's and Autozone and turned on Mitchell Street, then turned left on Washington Avenue. We turned right on Herritage Street and walked down to Gordon Street where we turned right and walked to Mitchell again. Instead of going to the stage at Pearson Park, we walked by the playground side to the story walk and then to the stage.

Cool down: We did a series of poses, a variation of a vinyasa (flow) known as Moon Salutation.

  • standing with arms overhead in slight back bend (Urdhva Mukhasana)
  • with hands together overhead we bent over to one side (Utthita Parsvasana)
  • we went down into a deep sumo squat (Goddess Pose)
  • we stood back up with legs spread wide and arms out to a 'T'
  • we exhaled on one side into triangle pose (Trikonasana)
  • move next into forward bend (Uttanasana)
  • squat down into a low squat (Malasana variation)
  • one leg was bent and the other leg stretched out to the side with hands either on the ground or palms together (Utthita Parsva Konasana variation)
  • squat down into a low squat again (Malasana variation)
  • switch to other side with other leg bent and other leg stretched out to the side (low side lunge) with hands either on the ground or palms together (Utthita Parsva Konasana variation)
  • from low squat, we lift our butts up to forward bend (Uttanasana)
  • triangle pose on the other side (Trikonasana)
  • legs spread, arms out in a 'T'
  • down into a big sumo squat (Goddess Pose)
  • hands together overhead, we bent over to the other side (Utthita Parsvasana)
  • arms overhead in slight back bend (Urdhva Mukhasana)
COT, announcements, and picture. Shout out to Yachty for yelling out the directions. I don't walk as fast as the other ladies so I wasn't technically leading the ruck. 😂 I probably should have given the faster ladies my directions I printed out, but hindsight...😂
